What My #1 Tip for Surviving Covid?

Sunlight.

Some call it “Cold and Flu Season”. I call it “low Vitamin D season”. And low Vitamin D has been link to worse cases of Covid. Lack of sunshine, indoors more often, shorter days, less light means lower vitamin D in our bodies which is one of the most powerful immune boosters we have.  And did you know that Sunlight boosts fat loss and can even help “spot reduce” fat!?

So in order to boost you up, I’m jam-packing this email with 5 tips to keep myself outside, sucking in fresh air and soaking up sunlight…  Even living in the midst of “Misery” (aka Missouri) winter.

Tips to Enjoy the Outdoors more when it’s Cold:

Ready for Tip #1? It’s a doozy….

Bundle up.  Yes, in order to go out when it’s cold, you have to dress appropriately.  Not just a coat.  A coat, gloves, warm socks, maybe some leg warmers, boots, a scarf, warm polar fleece leggings or jeans, etc. You would be surprised how much you can enjoy outside when your are bundled up.  Are you getting much D?  Probably not.  Your face won’t absorb much at all, but you can still get fresh air, sunlight in your eyes which helps boost serotonin and dopamine (your happy brain chemicals), and if you are around trees you will get good essentials oils off the trees to boost your immune system naturally.

Tip #2… brace yourself….

Don’t bundle up on warm days.  Just yesterday, I was out on my paddle board with snow all around, in a tank top getting sun on my skin in 44 degrees.  When you are moving and the sun is on you, you can get pretty warm! So on those balmy winter days, try to go out with as minimal clothing as you can to stay warm, finding sun and moving in it.  You will find that the sun and movement create the ability for you to be outside enjoying nature longer.  And you might even like it!

Tip #3…Take your workout outdoors.

If it’s too cold to simply “be” outside, find a way to move outside.  Try bundling up and finding a local hike.  Head to a park and cross the monkey bars 3x and tell me that doesn’t heat you up and leave you sore the next day! Even set your iPad up outside with your mat and take your online workout out under the sun! Movement of any kind outside will keep you warm and able to stay in the sun for longer than sitting.

Tip #4 ….Take your office outside.

Need to get work done and no time to get some rays? Take your laptop outside, or take that zoom call outside. In fact, as I write this, I am sitting in my outdoor office in the sun typing away.  Vitamin D and productivity!

Tip #5 …. Plan a warm weekend away.

Where I live there is a 1 hour and 57 minute flight to Florida sunshine that I can hop on anytime I wish.  Even 2-3 days on the beach can do wonders for boosting your vitamin D bank account.  Perhaps it’s too frigid to spend much time outdoors where you live, but what about scheduling a long weekend away to somewhere warm just to reboot your system?

Finally, my last tip isn’t so much about getting outdoors but is a great addition when sunlight is limited…

Consider a high quality vitamin D3/k2 supplement. Reach out to me and I can set you up with Fullscript, my online dispensary and recommend a really great D that will move the needle for you in no time boosting your fat loss and your immunity!

And there certainly is alot of bugs going around, so…
